Bears Take On Houn Dawgs

            On Friday, the Bears faced Aurora in a game that was expected to be a good one. In the first quarter, the Bears realized they had a tough fight when the Houn Dawgs scored one touchdown making it 0-7.

            The Bears gave it their all when Austin Gastineau caught a tipped pass and scored an Ava Bear’s touchdown, putting the score-board at 6-7.In the second quarter, the Dawgs got one more touchdown making it 6-14. In the third quarter, the Dawgs scored again making it 6-21. In the fourth, the Bears inched closer to a touchdown, but the Dawgs pushed the Bears back down the field. The Dawgs score a touchdown leaving the scored to 6-21. The last touchdown of the game was made by the Dawgs making the final score 6-27.

Coach Swofford said, “We had to stop number 44 their good running back. He did a great job running the ball. We got down inside the 5- yard line, but had penalties and couldn’t score. We gave up a couple of good plays.”

This Friday, the Bears have a game at Rogersville. “We are hopeful and feel like we can play with them. If we match our intensity and our hitting that we had last week, we are going to have a good chance of winning that football game. They just got beat and are looking for a win. It is going to be a good game,” Coach Swofford stated.
