On Tuesday, August 30th, NHS and StuCo volunteers left school thirty minutes early to serve at the Crosslines Food Drive in the Life Church back parking lot. There were eighteen people working the food drive, including three Crosslines workers. The student volunteers helped set up tables, then started getting all the food items bagged and ready to go for the already growing line of cars. By the time our students had been giving out food for two hours, they’d helped one hundred and thirty families in our community. Thanks to Crosslines and our AHS student volunteers, one hundred and thirty people were able to bring home donated food items such as bags of potatoes and breakfast bars. After the last family was driving away with their food stuffs, the students started disposing of the used boxes, and taking down tables and tents. In the space of only two hours, our students were able to do a lot of good! A huge thanks goes out to Zimran Lawrence, Allayna Brown, Hannah Griffith, Dwight Emerson, Jess Stafford, A.J. Vanvalkenburg, Hunter Watson, Rachel Taylor, Sara Wake, Belle Giorgianni, Chandler Roberts, Kelsey Lumley, Dakota Hathcock, Meghan Lakey, Reagan Swatosh, and the Crosslines workers.
