A Shot From the Parade Featuring Some of the American Cheerleaders.

Every year London has a New Year Parade, and cheerleaders from all over the world are invited to participate. A cheerleader from our own town was even invited to attend, and she accepted. This cheerleader was none other than Cleopatra Stafford.

She left Springfield for Pennsylvania then took another plane to London right after Christmas. She was in London for a week with a thousand or so other cheerleaders as they enjoyed all that London had to offer. On the News Year’s Day parade in London, all the girls went and cheered in the parade as they walked the entire length, which was about three miles. The parade started at the Wolseley and ended on Westminster near Big Ben. While the climate wasn’t ideal for a parade, the girls made it look easy and fabulous!

It was a great experience and I loved doing it.”

— Cleopatra Stafford

Over the course of the week, the cheerleaders were immersed in London’s culture and had an overall fabulous time. Cleopatra herself said, “It was a great experience and I loved doing it.” Hopefully she and the other cheerleaders will be invited back next year for the 2018 parade!
