Meet the Marching Band

Marching Band is something that brings everyone together. They work hard, laugh hard, and play hard. AHS Sophomore, Trevor Sartin explained, “I love the marching competitions. I love the show we do every year because we always make it fascinating!”

This marching season, the Ava Pride Band has a lot of seniors. Senior, Lizzy Linder, the front ensemble section leader, explained what it was like to be a senior in marching band. “Leaving band is a bittersweet moment for me. I love band, the people, and the directors, but I’m not going to have to wake up early just to go outside and stand in the sun anymore.’’

Kobi Gasek is the Trumpet section leader. He has been in band for seven years, and he plans on going into a DCI band at some point after his high school career. Kobi explained his favorite thing about marching band: “The family atmosphere. We’re all one big, happy, dysfunctional family.’’

The Ava Pride Band has a lot of freshman! Kelbe Kilgore explained how she felt about being a freshman in band. “I like band a lot. Upperclassman have made me feel like I am part of the family. It has been a positive experience so far.’’

The Ava Pride Marching Band has a lot of upcoming events and couldn’t be more excited!
