Ava High School had a whole week of dressing up and showing our school spirit before the big game on Friday, September 15, 2017, against the Salem Tigers. The Bears had an amazing game. At the end of the fourth quarter, the bears came out with the win with a score of 45 to 0. Ava had the lead up 6 to 0 at the end of the first quarter. Ava had a total of 309 rushing yards and 162 passing yards, while the Tigers had a total of 29 rushing yards and 65 passing yards, and only 4 first downs. After this game the Bears bumped up to five wins and zero losses, still undefeated. “We always got to believe that we can win and we don’t ever want to think that we can lose, so we believe we won because we were doing well in the season, and we did good,” according to AHS Junior Stephen Copeland, the running back for the Ava Bears.
