So, you wake to go to work or school and you get your daily cup of coffee, or even soda, and you don’t think anything of it. Well, one of the main ingredients in coffee, soda, and many other drinks is caffeine. Caffeine is a central nervous system stimulant that is in the methylxanthine class. It is the most widely consumed psychoactive drug, but the difference between it and some other psychoactive drugs is that it is legal and unregulated in almost all the parts of the world.
Caffeine also has some very dangerous effects like insomnia, jitters, withdrawal headaches, increased blood pressure, risk of overdose, anxiety, and it exacerbates heart conditions. If you wanna drink a healthy amount of caffeine you can drink up to 400 milligrams of caffeine a day. Even though caffeine is very bad for you it has also had some health benefits, including protecting against Parkinson’s disease, type 2 diabetes and liver disease, including liver cancer. Even though caffeine is unhealthy for you it won’t cause anything major to happen unless you consume an unhealthy amount; therefore, if you drink one or two sodas you’ll be fine.
